KGHM ZANAM Foundry in Legnica – reliability, precision, development

Although many people associate KGHM ZANAM mainly with the production of machinery and equipment, it is worth remembering that the company also operates a technologically advanced foundry located in Legnica. It is a modern plant specialising in the production of high-quality steel and cast iron castings for various industries, from mining and energy to the machine industry.

The foundry carries out both individual orders and serial production, relying on solutions such as casting and solidification simulations (MagmaSoft), electric arc furnaces and FLOSTER technology. The entire process is supported by extensive laboratory facilities, enabling full quality control at every stage of production.

In response to market needs and the development directions of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Capital Group, the foundry is consistently developing its offer and modernising its technological infrastructure. Further types of castings are being analysed, and the work carried out includes digitally supported casting processes, project preparation and the improvement of production methods using our own technological and engineering facilities. An example of this approach is the development of segmental casting technology for use in shaft infrastructure, as part of which a test casting of tubing was made on the existing infrastructure, meeting all technical requirements.
