A digital step forward – the first stage of ON!Track implementation at KGHM ZANAM S.A.

KGHM ZANAM has completed the first stage of implementing Hilti’s ON!Track system. This solution is designed to facilitate equipment management, improve safety and gradually eliminate paper document circulation. Before making a decision, the system was tested in production conditions to check whether it meets the needs of our departments and supports real work processes. The test results confirmed that ON!Track can improve equipment monitoring and introduce greater transparency in resource management.

Why ON!Track? The system allows equipment information to be organised in one place, provides quick access to inspection history and current equipment status, and supports cost control. This allows users to work with up-to-date data without having to search through documents in multiple locations.

How did the first stage go? Initially, the focus was on slings — one of the key elements used in production processes. During the five days of work:

  • the system structure and resources were prepared,
  • the slings were tagged,
  • devices enabling their location were installed,
  • training for users was conducted,
  • the process map and the method of operating the equipment in the system were refined.

As a result, all data concerning slings is now digital and available in one place, which significantly facilitates their ongoing control.

What next? The completed stage provides a basis for further expansion of the system to other groups of equipment. A gradual transition to full digital documentation and further automation of tool and accessory control is planned.

This is the first step towards broader digitisation of processes at KGHM ZANAM. The well-thought-out implementation shows that change can start with simple actions, which over time translate into real improvements in the work of the entire organisation.
