The 3rd Convention of the SITG Branch at KGHM ZANAM has concluded!
On 27 February 2026, Jan Wyżykowski University in Polkowice hosted the 3rd Convention organised by the SITG Branch at KGHM ZANAM S.A., with the support of the KGHM ZANAM Management Board.
The meeting brought together representatives of the technical community as well as the mining and metallurgical industry. The event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss current sector challenges, and examine directions for the further development of the non-ferrous metals industry.
One of the key points on the programme was the presentation of the production technology and product portfolio of the Głogów Copper Smelter, which includes copper, precious metals, lead, and sulphuric acid. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the technological processes and the significance of these products in both national and international supply chains.
A significant element of the Convention was also a presentation dedicated to the technological transformation of the Legnica Copper Smelter, titled: “Dziś i jutro – transformacja technologiczna Huty Miedzi Legnica” (Today and Tomorrow: The Technological Transformation of the Legnica Copper Smelter). Modernisation directions, implemented solutions, and prospects for further development in the context of efficiency, safety, and environmental requirements were discussed.
The 3rd Convention also served as a platform for building relationships between the SITMN and SITG branches. The meeting created a tangible basis for establishing cooperation, exchanging knowledge, and planning joint initiatives for the future.
We would like to thank all participants for their attendance, substantive discussions, and active engagement. Such meetings demonstrate the vital importance of cooperation within the technical community in the face of the dynamic changes occurring in the industry.
